Fon and BT are partnering together for a service most likely to involve BT’s current arsenal of WiFi hotspots and Fon’s ability to make money off people who want free WiFi at the hotspots. Sounds like a great plan, but what sounds really nice is the La Fonero router that Fon supplies. It’s perfect for DD-WRT.
Even J Allard looks less than impressed with the new Zune, Bill just looks like he’s nervous as usual, because there’s a camera stealing his soul. The new zune gets rid of it’s predecessors faux clickwheel and replaces it with another, oddly clickwheel-esque button, this time, it’s touch sensitive. The screen has gotten bigger, albeit with the [...]
The IPTV software, Joost hit 1.0 today, but oddly still kept it’s beta tag. Wether this is just to keep some of the web 2.0 venture capital money or just to keep it invite-only is unclear, but this has to be the biggest update to it in it’s history.
The user interface has been very well [...]
Today, i noticed that the internet was going slow, so i phoned up AOL (my service provider). They kindly informed me that even though I’m on an UNLIMITED package, that “unlimited” doesn’t mean unlimited, it means “unlimited up to 60gb a month, then we’ll slow you right down so you hate us”.

Just what i need… ANOTHER reason to go to starbucks every day :D
The Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP) group, whose members include Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, LG, and Nokia, have decided that Micro USB will be the new charging/data standard for new phones. This is good news on several counts.
Everyone will have the same power connector
Phones will be thinner, thanks to the new, thinner connector
Phones will be [...]
Microsoft continues to act like a monopoly: blocking .Mac users from their Windows live service, I had to change my login from my .Mac to one for this domain.
I’m not going to use MSN if i can avoid it in future. AIM and Yahoo! FTW.
USB 3.0 improves upon its successors by adding fiber-optic cable inside alongside the copper wiring, greatly increasing the speeds to somewhere in the region of 4.8gb/s.
All in all, this looks to kill firewire dead, but better than that, it allows very fast connections to drives, so it can only be a good thing. It’d also be pretty [...]
