Another 60 days of free MobileMe

Apple should keep this up, people don’t complain as much if it’s free.
Anyway, this is the email I got as I woke up this morning detailing the free 60 days I received as thanks to waiting it out over the .Mac to MobileMe switchover, which totally didn’t bug me in the slightest.

Scrabulous Shut Down on Facebook

I know it’s not their intellectual property but I really wish Hasbro thought about buying the game out from the developers rather than screwing it up for a load of people who lost their game in the process of the IP battle.
The official version of the scrabble game might actually get some people playing it, [...]

Inquisitor bought by Yahoo!

Looking to be something of an odd acquisition for Yahoo!, everyone’s favourite safari plug-in, Inquisitor has been snapped up as a “search assistant” (or to get Yahoo as the default on a few more people’s copies of safari). It’s a bit of a shame, but I liked the google default. Congrats to David Watanabe on the sale of it [...]

Apple makes windows software update easier for idiots.

Showing that people think windows users are idiots and need everything spelt out to them, Apple changed their windows software update program so that it now shows what is new software. It is, however, still checked by default so there will probably be some outcry about it still. Everyone’s doing it, installing things you don’t [...]

The XO is greener than Greenpeace

It’s practically powered by your own positive thoughts, this video shows just how good it is. The cold facts shown in the video just show how efficient it is and how much is beats “standard” laptops.

I really want one of these things to play with, but I’ve got no idea what they’d actually be useful [...]

Sony paid off Toshiba with an $835M Deal to kill HD-DVD

A new twist in the HD-DVD death has just appeared; Sony seems to have paid off Toshiba in a deal that is rumored to be about $835M, Moving production of the PS3s Cell Processor to Toshiba, making them one of the biggest players in the Blu-Ray movement. Not only do the plants make the Cell Processor, [...]

Yahoo! is screwed

So, Microsoft is offering an almost unimaginable number for Yahoo! Things can only really go two ways as I see it; one way would be that Yahoo backs down to Microsoft and the money to avoid a shareholder rebellion and to keep most of the board of directors, the other scenario has Microsoft buying out Yahoo and [...]

PS3 is getting it’s ass kicked.

The xmas stats came in, and they don’t shape up too favorably for Sony.

If you look at the chart, both the PSP and the PS3 are shaping up to be ungodly failures for Sony, whereas the Wii and the DS are proving to be the most popular consoles out at the moment. The Xbox 360 is coming [...]

Shooting yourself in the foot: Windows XP gets faster with SP3, Vista Slower with SP1

A group called Devil Mountain Systems has claimed that Windows XP service pack 3 is somewhere in the range of 10% faster than service pack 2, even calling it a “must-have update”. Vista, on the other hand, looks to be covered with more DRM or something because it’s not getting any quicker. XP seems a [...]

Canon 5d Mark 2 semi-confirmed

The replacement for the Canon 5D, the 5D mark 2, looks almost certain now, thanks to a slip up on phase-one’s website, similar leaks happened before the 40d was released so this seems to be a fairly accurate way of knowing it’s coming soon. Here’s the page
The Canon 5D Mark II is rumored to include the [...]
