Micro USB: The ubiquitous Nokia charger Mk.2

The Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP) group, whose members include Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, LG, and Nokia, have decided that Micro USB will be the new charging/data standard for new phones. This is good news on several counts.

Sony’s (new) answer to the iPod: Rolly.

A new viral ad appeared online this week, a small egg shaped music playing, dancing robot. Sounds remarkably like the aibo, but with wheels instead of legs.
Strangely it is pretty cool, if a little pointless. check out the Youtube video for an idea of how it works, it’s better to see rather than be told.

Just a day after the iPhone sim unlock folks released their $99 iPhone unlock, the open source community has pretty much done the same thing, for free.

Hot on the heels of the iPod announcement, the Zune got a price drop of $50, nobody cares about it anyway, broken wifi and all.
Looks like they need a bit more than a small price drop to get people to want to buy it
