iPhone SDK announcement: March 6th

Apple today announced that they will be holding a press announcement, showing exactly what they’ve been putting into the SDK for the iPhone and the iPod touch. The enterprise bit in the image looks promising though. I’m looking forward to it.

New Macbook and Macbook Pro models

Well, looks like it’s Tuesday again, Apple’s shop went down for a bit today and they updated the Macbook and Macbook Pro, with new penryn processors and more storage, otherwise they’re pretty much the same as the previous sku.
The macbook pro now has a multitouch trackpad, the low end macbook still only has a combo [...]

Starbucks + Desktops?

The Starbucks staff never gave us any trouble at all. In fact, it didn’t seem like it occurred to them that the three computer users might have known each other. One employee walked by me and laughed. I asked him what was going on and he pointed at the three computer users and declared, “They [...]

In obvious news; The iMac will get a processor upgrade with the Macbooks

9-5Mac seems to think that the iMac will get a processor/motherboard upgrade with the rev to Penryn processors. Seeing as the iMac is built around the same chipset as the Macbook Pro, it kind of makes sense. One thing i’ll be looking for is if they’ll have blu-ray drives as an option on all higher [...]

iPhone SDK delayed?

A lot of sources are running on news that Apple is delaying the iPhone SDK for a few weeks, the same thing they did to the AppleTV. I call bullshit. Apple’s got an event planned for the end of the month as far as I’ve heard and that’s where it’ll be announced (and hopefully the new [...]

I have Crackbook

My macbook has a nice little crack in its palm rest, but Apple assured me that they would cover it seeing as so many macbooks have been known to have this problem.

iTunes 7.6 is causing me all sorts of hell

Now I’m usually one to sing iTunes praises, but as of the recent 7.6 update, I can’t sync anything, play anything or download podcasts because iTunes hangs every 10 seconds. Calls to Apple got me advice on how to downgrade to iTunes 7.5 (on windows, the irony is horrible) and not a lot of advice. [...]

Macworld 2008

Well, Stevemas has come and gone, leaving in its wake, a load of new stuff. Probably the biggest announcement was the Macbook Air, a transitional laptop between the Macbook and the Macbook Pro, hailed as “the world’s thinnest notebook”. It makes the last generation of ultraportables look obese by comparison and features a few never [...]

Who would have guessed? The Apple Store is down.

As usual, the Apple Store is down, meaning the Keynote is just around the corner. Just a few more hours to go.
At least I haven’t been out waiting in line since last night for it, unlike some people.

As macworld starts, keep your Mac app updates current

One thing that’s bound to happen over the course of the next few days is that companies are going to release new versions of their software, or even new 1.0 software for us all to drool over. One of the easiest solutions to keeping your apps updated is definitely the App Update widget by Codelaide Software. Grab [...]
