New Macbook and Macbook Pro models

Well, looks like it’s Tuesday again, Apple’s shop went down for a bit today and they updated the Macbook and Macbook Pro, with new penryn processors and more storage, otherwise they’re pretty much the same as the previous sku.

The macbook pro now has a multitouch trackpad, the low end macbook still only has a combo drive (wtf, why not put a floppy drive in it?) 512Mb graphics cards as standard on the 15″ 2.5ghz and 17″ 2.5ghz Macbook pro, more ram on standard Macbook.

The remote for front row is now an optional extra and costs £15.

Apple RAM still costs an arm and a leg, a £240.01 upgrade to go from 2gb to 4gb, when crucial have the same kit for £80 including VAT.

I’m a bit unimpressed with the lack of a redesign on the keyboard of the Macbook Pro, but I’ll deal with it, especially when I buy one.

The macbook revision seems to be a bit lacking in any imagination, but Apple needs something to push people to buy the higher-end Macbook Pro.

I just got a Macbook Air, and I’m a bit fed up. I agree that Apple needs to think of something to push sales upwards in terms of the higher end products, but the overall design seems boring to me now. Still, at least it beats vista lol. Cool blog! =)
