Rumors are heating up over the future of pentax’s DSLR line, with the latest round of rumblings coming in the form of speculative specifications, the K10d and K100d Super will be replaced with a K20d and K200d. The K200d should get something along the lines of
  • 10MP Sensor from Sony?
  • PRIME 12-bit Image Processor?
  • 3 FPS (10 Max RAW; Infinite JPEGs)?
  • Larger LCD (3 inch?)?
  • 11 AF Points
The Higher level K20d looks to be getting a nice bump as well with
  • Pentax Proprietary 14MP CMOS Sensor?
  • 14 bit RAW A/D Processor?
  • 3? Live View LCD?
  • Improved In-Body Shake Reduction?
  • Body Design Similar to K10D?
  • Significant Custom Functions (including AF trimming/programming for different lenses)?
  • PC Sync

It doesn’t sound like it’ll stray me away from Canon, but it does look like they’re getting their act together and stepping up as a competitor against the 40D from Canon or the D80 from Nikon with the K20d.
