Microsoft wants zune to be No.2, have succeeded in the wrong way

Microsoft looks like it’s trying to catch up on people in the MP3 player market, not aiming for the top though, it looks like they’re trying to catch up with the epic failures that are sandisk and creative labs.
Going after no.2 sounds almost as nice as it would if you say it out loud. In [...]

This blog now works with iPhone

Well, it’s a bit of a stretch, but this site now works on an iPhone. I hope it works well when I get my iPhone, but if it doesn’t, I’ll just recode and work from what’s not working.
Here’s a screenshot from iPhoney

Zune 2 outed, still nobody cares.

Even J Allard looks less than impressed with the new Zune, Bill just looks like he’s nervous as usual, because there’s a camera stealing his soul. The new zune gets rid of it’s predecessors faux clickwheel and replaces it with another, oddly clickwheel-esque button, this time,  it’s touch sensitive. The screen has gotten bigger, albeit with the [...]

Gibson signs a deal with tronical: self tuning guitars

Gibson’s courtship of the self-tuning setup’s vendor, tronical, has been going on for a good while. Whilst the company’s main product has been available as an add-on for guitars, it’s never had the option direct from the manufacturer.
Their system uses 6 extra pickups, one directly under each string, to calibrate the guitar back to perfect [...]

Joost goes public

Joost got unlocked to the public today, just a day after the upgrade to a beta of its 1.0. Looks like I’ll be getting less email from people asking for an invite, but it’s good to see it open :]

Joost hits 1.0: still in beta

The IPTV software, Joost hit 1.0 today, but oddly still kept it’s beta tag. Wether this is just to keep some of the web 2.0 venture capital money or just to keep it invite-only is unclear, but this has to be the biggest update to it in it’s history.
The user interface has been very well [...]

4chan is 4: today

Home of the internet meme; 4chan is 4 today. With over 41Million get on it’s /b/ board, it’s the largest dump of images on the net. Not much more to say on the subject, other than expect slowpoke to get the news next week.

Boot camp begins to expire: Leopard imminent

Apple has just put out a support document, stating that boot camp will expire in the next month, hinting at the release of Leopard at the end of the month is still on track, the odd thing about it is that the article doesn’t seem to have any way for people still using 10.4 Tiger [...]

Sony’s OLED TV. The Mary-Kate Olsen of TV’s

Coming out on December 1st, this 1,000,000:1 brightness, 3mm thick TV has to be the thinnest and brightest commercially available.
At only 11 inches diagonal, it’s not exactly massive, and with a resolution of only 960×540, it’s not going to replace the 46″ sharp 1080p screen in my lounge, but for the people who have to get 1st [...]

Coffee from your fridge

Now this is a great idea, coffee from your fridge. Not only do you get the ice and water from it, but espresso too. They’ve even built in something to keep things fresher than usual using some sort of 6th sense. It’s not out until january next year, and will probably have a massive price [...]
