10.16Leopard is out next friday, all details here.
The speculation was true, the release of Apple’s next OS: Leopard is going to be next Friday at 6pm. Apple released data on it’s site today, some of the things that are pretty nice that I’ve noticed are
- Stronger .Mac sync. Dock Preferences and Dashboard Widget sync. Rather nice if you’re like me and have more than 1 Mac
- More security. Just because the Mac OS was better, they decided to change it to make it even more secure, taking a leaf from vista, they’re now doing Library Randomization.
- Sandboxed applications, more security again.
- Application-based firewall, much like little snitch
- spotlight is gunning for quicksilver, looks like it’s getting there, but not quite yet.

The notes feature from the iPhone will now sync to your mac and vice versa through .Mac now.
Apple seem to have raised the price for educational buyers, up from $69 to $110, which is a pain for some, but not for most.
People who wait for it and buy it on the launch date at an Apple Store will be given the chance to get a free leopard t-shirt.
