Just a day after the iPhone sim unlock folks released their $99 iPhone unlock, the open source community has pretty much done the same thing, for free.

Open source strikes back. AT&T must hate them.

UPDATE: Engadget is reporting that Apple has backtracked on it’s word on iPhone hacks, saying now that updates will probably break 3rd party apps, such as the unlock.
